I delivered UI designs for customer-requested Transportation Management System (TMS) features, streamlined key workflows through improved interface solutions, and partnered closely with product, engineering, and customers to understand the larger system and inform more strategic design decisions.

These are a few of the projects I worked on at ShipHawk. As the sole UX Design Intern, I worked closely with the TMS Product Manager (Jonathan Day), Head of Product (Nibesh Moktan), and Senior Technical Writing Manager (Michael Stivers).
Due to heavy NDAs, I am unable to display visual assets from this work; however, I can outline my role, decisions, and the impact of the solutions I designed.
Multi-leg Shipment Tracking
Client Polywood required a multi-leg shipment workflow within their TMS and a tracking page that could clearly display each leg of the journey while preventing customers from confusing a middle-mile delivery with the final delivery.

I led a full redesign of Polywood’s branded tracking page, introducing a multi-stage progress bar system, separate status sections for each shipment leg, and robust error and exception messaging. I reworked the layout, hierarchy, and labeling to help customers clearly understand shipment progress.
The final solution was built as a reusable template that could be adapted for future clients, saving the company time & development costs for similar requests.

Multi-leg Order Consolidation
For multi-leg shipments, we needed a workflow that allowed orders to be consolidated as soon as the final delivery hub was confirmed—even if the middle-mile details were still unknown—so that fulfillment teams could move forward without waiting on incomplete routing information.

I created a Consolidate Orders workflow in the Orders page, enabling users to filter by final delivery hub, select eligible shipments, and generate a new consolidated order ID.
I added logic that blocked consolidation across mismatched final legs, reducing errors and ensuring operational integrity.

Solution
Customizable Tracking Email
I identified a recurring pattern: clients wanted customized tracking emails, but the existing template allowed only minimal personalization. As a result, engineering was repeatedly asked to build one-off email variations—driving up implementation costs and consuming significant engineering time.

I began by reviewing Jira tickets to identify the most common client requests and understand recurring pain points.

While our system supports individual reference number mappings, it lacks the ability to create and manage mapping sets, which limits compatibility with retailers who require more structured configurations.

I developed a Reference Mapping Set capability where customers can create tailored reference label mappings for individual retailers and establish a default mapping set, improving compatibility and reducing manual setup across accounts.

Cross-functional collaboration is essential — partnering with product managers, engineers, and clients helped me uncover real pain points and design solutions grounded in actual customer needs.
Supply Chain management — I learned how critical clarity, automation, and error prevention are in supply chain tools, where even minor UX friction can slow fulfillment, drive support tickets, or impact delivery performance.
Small UX improvements can have large operational impact — this project showed me how even subtle interface enhancements can significantly streamline workflows and reduce friction for users.
